Backend

I’ve worked on a number of projects which included backend work. Mainly focused around MySQL data served with Golang APIs, but i’ve also spent time working with Typescript APIs and other tech stacks.

DevOps

Throughout my career i’ve worked with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, AWS CodeDeploy, and Kubernetes. Along with this, I have experience working with and managing cloud platforms such as Firebase, AWS and Microsoft Azure.

Project Planning, Team Work and Agile

During my career i’ve run and been part of teams working on existing and brand new projects. I’ve handled diverse responsibilities including: building development plans for projects, planning and creating tickets based on customer requests, participating in code reviews and Agile-driven activities, and interfacing with both technical and non-technical third parties.

Frontend / Web-based

All throughout my career i’ve spent time building and managing projects within web-based platforms such as Angular and React. Also designed and built mobile projects using React Native and Ionic.

Professional

    • Implemented new features and maintained existing features in a React Native hybrid mobile application using TypeScript, JavaScript and Redux. Created and updated unit tests in Jest.

    • Implemented real-time functionality using web-sockets for live updates across mobile and web platforms.

    • Lead implementation, testing and development of a brand-new game in a hybrid mobile application called Spin & Draft. Built using Figma designs using Redux and TypeScript, conducted QA using automated and physical testing, wrote unit tests in Jest.

    • Contributed to the development of web applications written in Vue.js using TypeScript.

    • Managed iOS & Android releases for a React Native application using Bitrise and other CI/CD pipelines.

    • Designed and developed a mobile scoring app for Android using Jetpack Compose and Kotlin, integrating Firebase for authentication, Firestore, and API calls for real-time data.

    • Led pre-development planning, structured workflows, and ticket management for efficient delivery, while overseeing testing and deployment. Enhanced and maintained GameSheet’s sports management platform, leveraging React, Go-based APIs, and PostgreSQL, with Cloudflare optimization to implement new features and drive performance improvements.

    • Contributed to the development, maintenance, and release of over 75 Ionic Angular white-label mobile applications, integrating a Go-based API and MSSQL database. Managed customer-requested features through ticket creation, implemented time-saving tools like Ionic Appflow, and supported a C# customer admin dashboard. Reduced build and release costs by developing an in-house app builder in Go, streamlining testing and deployment for iOS and Android using Capacitor and custom CLI commands.

    • Played a key role in feature development and performance optimization for HockeyTV’s streaming service, utilizing Angular, Go, and MySQL, while managing Jenkins workflows and deployments. Enhanced HockeyTech’s scoring data systems used by 75+ hockey leagues, leveraging PHP, AngularJS, and MySQL. Developed a Go-based data import tool for LeagueStat, managed AWS CodeDeploy workflows, and facilitated data migration across complex database infrastructures.Description text goes here

  • Solved and managed user’s software and hardware problems within a small team. Led a team of other technical specialists to plan, test, and conduct the transfer of users from Windows 7 to Windows 10

  • Over a decade and a half of working as an on-ice official in the OHL, OHA, OUA and other leagues around Ontario.

    Frequently interfaced with supervisors and other officials to grow and build my skills as an official and person.
